Environmental Audit:

WINNIA Environmental Audits conform to the international standard ISO 14001 Performance Evaluation Guidelines for Environmental Management Systems.

WINNIA qualified auditors independently assess a factory site’s allocation, usage, storage and disposal processes regarding raw materials, production materials and waste by-products in accordance with ISO 14001 norms.

ISO 14001 Compliance

The ISO 14001 family addresses a wide range of items for environmental management, providing practical tools for organizations and companies looking to identify and control their environmental impact as well as constantly improve their environmental performance.

WINNIA qualified auditors assist organizations to assess and enhance environmental measures throughout their supply chains and ensure compliance with environmental requirements.

An WINNIA environmental audit assesses factory compliance with ISO 14031: 1999 Environmental Performance Evaluation guidelines regarding general operation processes, including:

                             · Energy use, transport and greenhouse gases

                             · Water use

                             · Wastewater/effluent

                             · Emissions

                             · Waste management

                             · Pollution prevention/hazardous and potentially hazardous substances

                             · Major incident prevention and management

                             · Contaminated land/soil and groundwater pollution prevention

                             · Land use and biodiversity

                             · Internal processes for team training on environmental best practices

ISO 14000 and EMAS:

ISO 14000 is a body of normative standards concerning environmental management designed.

        (a) to assist organizations to minimize their negative environmental impact.

        (b) to ensure compliance with relevant laws and other requirements.

        (c) foster continued improvement in both.

ISO 14000, like ISO 9000 standards for quality management systems, both concern the production process and not the actual product. ISO 14000 are part of the EU Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS).
Also, like ISO 9000, the ISO 14000 family of standards primarily accesses environmental impact of the processes concerned with factory general operation and goods production - not the products themselves. The outcome of an ISO 14000 audit, like all ISO audits, should be regarded only as an assessment of a factory's general environmental impact as manufacturer, not that of an individual production run or product.
